The use of high nitrogen synthetic fertilisers together with poor draining soils create an environment that moss will thrive in.

By using organic balanced fertilisers and soil conditioners, the soil environment will improve and the occurrence of moss will reduce.

Where the moss is prevalent, the lawn will need to be scarified to remove the thatch and in severe cases, the lawn will need to be over seeded.

This work is best carried out in the Autumn through to Spring.
